Rasam



Ingredients:

Cumin powder-2tsp
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Urud(Ulunthu) dal - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds-1tsp
Tomato-1
Tamarind-Size of lemon
a pinch of asafoetid
Coriander leaves and curry leaves-few
Garlic-4
salt to taste

Method:

1. Soak the tamarind pulp and squeeze out the juice.
2. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder ,asafoetida ,cumin powderand garlic to the tamarind juice.
3. Then add 2 cups of water and salt to the tamarind mixture.
4. Then add curry and corriander leaves.
5. Heat the oil, add mustard seeds and urud dhal.
6. Now add tamarind mixture to the oil.
7. Boil it until the green smell of tamarind vanishes.
